GWINNETT COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY LEARNING LABS

By

In the olden days of 2011, if you wanted to pursue your dreams of being a filmmaker, music producer, news anchor, photographer, graphic designer . . . you get the drift… you had to make an investment. Not one of time and passion (though that, too!), but a financial investment into expensive software and equipment so that you could cultivate your skills and establish a spectacular portfolio of work to impress a potential employer. Enter the GCPL Learning Labs!

Located at the Five Forks, Hamilton Mill and Lilburn branches, Learning Labs are spaces to “create, collaborate, and share digital content.” With full-scale studios, top-of-the-line creative software and equipment like 3-D printers, DSLR cameras and even sewing machines, now all it takes is a library card to invest in your future!

Learning Labs enable everyone to try out their creative side. Whether you need to design flyers for your new business, find an outlet for your creative passion or just want to try something new and—who knows—maybe uncover a hidden talent, here find the tools you need to make it happen. And if you need help, don’t hesitate to ask one of the friendly librarians-turned-media-specialists!
