TASTE TEST: NOONA STEAKHOUSE AND OYSTER BAR

By

Recently named as one of the Hottest Restaurants in Atlanta by Eater Atlanta, Noona showcases classic American steakhouse and oyster bar favorites inspired by the forests and seashores of Korea.

Just trust us… Noona Steakhouse and Oyster Bar is a culinary experience you do NOT want to miss! Recently opened as one of several new restaurants in the popular Parson’s Alley in downtown Duluth, Noona is the latest concept from Michael Lo and George Yu, owners of Taiyo Ramen in Decatur and Suzy Siu’s Baos in Krog Street Market under the Korean Wives restaurant group umbrella.

The restaurant is centered around an open kitchen with a nine-foot wood burning hearth and a deliciously unique menu—a traditional American

steakhouse but with Korean nuances. (Can we also mention that we loved the signature cockails?)

Here is what we tried (and TOTALLY recommend!):

We started with the raw bar and selected two different kinds of oysters. Both were delicous, one a little more briny than the other. While both the poke and farm egg appetizers were delightful, the soft egg with celery cream served with rustic

bread that is the farm egg was out of this world!

The filets we ordered were cooked perfectly and the Gochujang butter, which is a Korean spicy chili butter, was the perfect accompaniment. Our favorite sides (which are meant to be shared) were the cheesy corn, smashed baby Yukon gold potatoes and hearth roasted broccoli.

Be sure to check out this newest addition to Parson’s Alley – you won’t be disappointed! But we do recommend making reservations… at the time of printing they were booked out two weeks!
